I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CHILDREN! After 9 years of marriage, my ex-husband and I found out we couldn't have children. Being without kids wasn't an option, so we adopted. I was able to be in the delivery room to greet my daughter Erin the day she was born and when she was a year and a half, we adopted her biological brother Erik. It was obvious they belonged together because they were very close from day one and still are today.
I coached every sport my kids played and was a very involved parent. They even rode to Princess Anne with me all 4 years of high school even though they were zoned for First Colonial High.
NOW WHAT? Now my kids are grown and out of the house. My son Erik has reconnected with both of his biological parents. He currently lives in Casper, Wyoming close to his birth father. My daughter Erin lives in Portsmouth with her husband Reuel and my 2 granddaughters Navah and Raeya. I continue to teach and love my students as if they were my own. Every day I come to work, I am grateful for the students I have and the chance to teach them about math and life.
